Story
Long ago, the 3 realms were once one, but due to constant conflicts, a group of powerful four armed with magic decided to do whatever it took to minimize conflicts, so the world would 'evolve'. They separated realms, they made one realm for the dead, they took out 'corrupted souls, and one last action; forging the 8 Lite Gems. No one knew how they did that at the time, but in an attempt to end conflict by instilling valuable traits in some human--little did they know they would be the reason for conflict in the future.
Centuries later, the Daybreak Guild leader has acquired the Legendary Weapon: Executioner of Worlds, an ax used by a person who separated the Mirror Realm, and Paradise from Purity. Despise having originally been used to sever worlds from each other, Daybreak leader has discovered it can also sever space right into the other realm. He ripped into the Paradise, and started an unexpected war with the Seraphim Clan.
However, Daybreak Guild leader's goal was not to end Seraphim Clan, but was to obtain the 8 Lite Gems for his own ends. He believed that once all 8 Lite Gems were gathered, and 'activated', they would form 'perfection'. Jenovah, the leader of the Seraphim Clan, decided to rely on the failsafe in the Lite Gems chambers, and escaped instead. The moment Daybreak's leader stepped into the chambers, the flooring underneath the gems collapsed, and the Lite Gems were plunged into Purity.
Meanwhile, in 'Purity'--or rather, our Earth, it was A.D. 2018 when the Lite Gems fell into the world--into Tokyo, to be specific. Each individual Lite Gems sought out its new owner--no---a new soul that resonates with the 'valuable traits' the Lite Gems embodied the most. Funnily enough, it was the Lite Gems' escape into Purity that led to conflict in the 'ordinary' realm. Deciding it'd be fun, Daybreak leader cut a portal to Purity right in front of the eyes of many on Paradise, to tempt Seraphim Clansmen into defecting. Then he went back to the Mirror World temporarily to cut a rift in that as well.
Now, Tokyo was now in chaos--but especially more so with the 8 'chosen' by the Lite Gems. Suddenly obtaining magical powers from the gem they obtained without knowing the true worth, and being actively hunted down by the self-righteous Daybreak (thankfully to be recruited instead of murdered), the enigmatic Assassin's Clan (whose methods of ending conflicts are less than agreeable), and renegades sided with neither--the remaining Seraphim Clansmen could be the only truly 'good side' here!

Lore
Not that normal human are aware, but there are actually 3 realms. To outsiders of their realm, their realm's called 'Purity'. The two other realms from the normal realm of Purity are the Mirror Realm, and the Paradise. Purity is our world, and the setting is 2018, in Tokyo.
The Mirror Realm
Shut off from the Paradise, and residing parallel to Purity, the Mirror Realm is a reflection of all human's collective psyche. As both negative traits and positive traits are reflected in each individual inside the Mirror Realm, the place is naught, but chaos. Some managed to organize into groups. 2 notable groups are Daybreak and the Assassin's Guild.
Due to being relatively unexplored, even up to the present in their realm, no one truly know all of the Mirror Realm.
The Paradise
An enigmatic location above the realm of Purity. Some people just call it 'Haven' because 3 syllables is a 'mouthful'. Paradise vacuums the souls of the death--and only those whose souls are light of sins. If too sinful, they get cast into reincarnation. The Paradise is home to the 8 Lite Gems.
The Lite Gems
There are 8 of them, with their own unique physical appearance and name. They are drawn to a person whose souls have traits that they embody.
Coronalite: a flame-colored, sun-shaped gem that constantly emits warmth. Embodies 'passion' and 'hope'.
Aqualite: a droplet-shaped, sparkling indigo-colored gem with shifting, wave-like texture. Embodies 'understanding' and 'gentleness'.
Glacilite: an iceberg-shaped gem that might as well be just magical ice that never melts. Embodies 'courage' and 'strength'.
Zephylite: green to purple-gradient, clover-shaped gem. Embodies 'determination' and 'independent'.
Starlite: a four-pointed, star-shaped gem with color of space, and glimmering of stars. Embodies 'creativity' and 'ambitions'.
Technolite: an oval-shaped, cyan-blue gem with thundery texture. Embodies 'leadership' and 'caution'.
Rosalite: a rose-shaped gem with a scent so sweet, and rich, red-pink color. Embodies 'friendship' and 'romance'.
Once all gems are gathered, they can be fused into 'perfection', but the only one who could know the full detail of what 'Perfection' is might be Jenovah, but given how the man perished...
A Lite Gem's current holder grants the ability to use a certain type of magic called Aura.
Aura
The magic, when in use, manifests as an aura of varying color.
Corona Aura: grants pyrokinesis, and the ability to create fire from thin air.
Aqua Aura: gives the ability to waterbend, and forms an aquatic barrier. Heal the user's wounds passively.
Glacier Aura: gives the ability to freeze things, and summon homing icicle missiles.
Zephyr Aura: aura that passively boosts speed, and allows the user to glide. User can create small tornados as an attack.
Starlight Aura: blinding aura that allows users to teleport (or rather; cause a spatial shift), and summon magical, blade-shaped projectiles.
Techno Aura: gives the ability to turn invisible, and summon lightning bolts.
Rozen Aura: allows user to summon rose petals which scent can cause dizziness. If used as projectiles, the petals can really cut.
Daybreak
Given how many secrets and things are still left in the dark, there are endless possibilities on the future of the Mirror Realm. Daybreak believes in that fact firmly, and seeks out a way to break into Purity. Daybreak also attempts to reduce chaos by murdering 'troublesome' people outright. Daybreak's base is a physical bar-like place in a 'city' made from shadows, and only high-ranking members were allowed to stay in the bar. The others must loam the streets. This was due to limited space.
They have an organized ranking system, mirroring Army and Marine Corps US Military rank.
Daybreak members vary in abilities.
The Assassin's Guild
They are exactly what they seem to be--assassins who work for clients who pay satisfactory sum of money. The only way to tell if someone's part of the Assassin's Guild is by looking if they have an Assassin Card or not, though most choose to hide theirs, anyway.
The only sort of organization the Assassin's Guild have is their network; the Psyche Link.
All members are independent.
Seraphim Clan
Paradise is home to the Seraphim Clan. Any soul that enters Paradise either agree to become a Clansman, or get cast into reincarnation. The Clan leader is a celestial being that appears as a divine, glowing, white light with a masculine voice and personality called named Jenovah. Jenovah is free to cast any of his Clansman out of Paradise if he does wish so.
There are only 2 ranks; Cherubs and Commanders. There are only 7 known Commanders, however.
The Clan resides in a European-styled, ivory-colored castle with endless amount of floors underground. In the castle's deepest chambers holds the 8 Lite Gems, which are said to embody the essence of humanity's most 'valuable traits'.
Seraphim Clansmen can sprout wings, even when they enter other realms. They also have light-related abilities.
The Legendary Weapons
The Heroic Quartet left their weapons behind after their deeds, though for what reasons are unknown.
Executioner of Worlds: a golden and silver-bladed ax. Being able to cut through anything--it'd be inconvenient if one would accidentally swing it. Thus the 'cut all' magic has to be 'activated' first.
Sin Cannibalizer: a massive, onyx-colored scythe with purplish ethereal glow. The weapon eats the souls of whoever it was used to kill to strengthen its own user. The Sin Cannibalizer is said to be in the hand of the Assassin's Guild leader.
Existence the Grimoire: a grimore with peculiar patterns and endless amount of pages. It contains every spells in existence, and every explanation about the world. Its location is unknown.
Excalibur: a greatsword that can kill even immortals by completely erasing something from existence. It was said to have been sealed off, but its location is unknown.
