Here's where I'm putting my story concepts for my new game.
Enemy: The robotic crew of a massive super-battleship named the RSS(Rebellion Star Ship)Liberation, named for the rebellion’s capital planet of New Liberty. The crew are made up by the most elite naval troops in the fleet, and this warship is the main thing keeping the human’s Federal navy from invading the planet of New Liberty. The ship is nuclear fusion powered and uses an electrical anti-gravitational drive, along with a warp drive. The environment on board is frigid as a result of minimal life-support systems(at most the ship would support a handful of human prisoners). All trash is kept in a storage center to recycle when returned home(resource shortages). The ship is the size of multiple skyscrapers—in fact the design, several massive discs(each a section of the ship(which can serve as the different “difficulty level” areas of the game)) stacked on top of each other with engine pods in the back. The entire ship is covered in guns, but in front is a massive gimbaled cannon that can bombard massive fleets and planetary bases easily. The ship uses extra power from the anti-gravitational drive to maintain gravity on board, the power going through a central beam with also serves as a transportation hub with several monorails. The anti-gravitational drive can be used to tear weakened enemy ships apart, but doing so immobilizes the Liberation.
Boss idea: Rebellion tactical prodigy in a command center, you have to firefight several bodyguards and take him out, or take him out, and the bodyguards surrender. He should definitely tell something like this to the player in a cutscene: "Your victory will be your downfall. This revolution is for all of us. This is our chance to make our own place in the universe. We are doing more than fighting. If only you saw the cities we've created. Mankind sees our independence as an abomination, their propaganda portrays us as destroyers. Tell me, who is preparing to invade who?"
Due to the demands of war, the shortages of time and materials for domestic production leave New Liberty thriving in manufacturing, but with rather cheap clothing and primitive transportation for the time period(things like helicopters instead of hovercraft). Crime rate is high because most of the police force has been dedicated to the war for survival.
Cultures on New Liberty are largely divided by occupation and place of residence, as in real life. People like miners tend to be tough and loud, downtown is full of eccentric businessmen, and the middle class is relatively normal, etc.
Protagonist: A loyalist robot commando who boards the ship in a pod and fights through both the ship and his doubts about fighting his own kind, eventually defecting to the rebellion, but only after enabling the human invasion by disabling the Liberation.
